About The Position

Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. Requirements

  • 10-years proven track record of leading multi-disciplined Electrical Harness Design teams in development and sustaining aircraft efforts including: Team Performance Reviews, Managing individual improvement plans, Supporting Teams Technical Growth, Succession planning
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • Knowledgeable of and supporting the needs and requirements of an Electrical Harness Fabrication facility
  • Strong understanding of the 2D / 3D Design Tool sets and how they communicate with one another
  • Knowledge of the following tool sets: Mentor Graphics Capital & NX or similar drafting architectures
  • Knowledgeable of and supporting Electrical Harness Certification Requirements
  • Proficient in Building and supporting Corporate Schedules, Budgets, Staffing Requirements and providing detailed updates of all of these to Senior Leadership

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the needs of Manufacturing
  • Providing alternate parts definition and control as required
  • Creating an MRB Team and all necessary supporting documentation
  • Support technical Design Reviews of Electrical Wiring systems
  • Mentor, train, and develop engineers in the Electrical Wiring team
  • Review and approve documentation such as test reports, BOMs, Drawings, etc
  • Use your knowledge of industry standard components to select optimal parts to suit specific design applications and requirements.
  • Follow industry best practices and guidance for the design and installation of the wire harnesses (AC 43.13-1B, AS50881, ASTM F2639)
