About The Position

We are looking for an EHS Manager to join our team to provide leadership and management over the planning and direction of all Environmental Health and Safety activities in Amboy, IL. The EHS Manager will ensure that Amboy complies with federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as Sensient internal EH&S standards and practices. The Environmental Health and Safety Manager will serve as the subject matter expert for development, implementation, and leadership of Sensient EHS planning policy/programs for the facility.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of EHS experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Must reside in the area or be willing to commute to the Amboy, Illinois facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food manufacturing or chemical industry preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, EHS, Environmental Science, or Industrial Hygiene and training/experience in hazardous materials, environmental compliance/regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in Amboy for EHS reviews, investigations, training, internal audits/metrics, health and safety committee, and the PSM program.
  • Monitor EHS compliance activities at the Amboy location through auditing, reporting, metric implementation, incident tracking and investigation.
  • Lead the development and execution of an Environmental Health and Safety strategy to improve safety performance, reduce accident/injury/illness incident rates and control workers compensation costs.
  • Serve as the facility lead for development, implementation, and execution of activities for environmental, health, and safety permits, compliance, and annual budget.
  • Own environmental reporting (stormwater, air emissions, hazardous waste, wastewater).
  • Assist in regulatory compliance (DOT, emergency planning, clean air act, etc.).
