Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech The Manager Education -Curriculum Design Strategy is an individual contributor who is a developing subject matter expert, who works independently with minimal supervision. Designs and develops industry leading tactics for leveraging customer and competitor insights, sales report analyses, and key performance indicators to inform on key business decisions regarding the strategic sales plans and GTM strategies for newly developed products. Leads the development and application of sales strategies and operations that distinguish between classes of trade and utilize a deep understanding of market dynamics and the current competitive landscape to differentiate the organization's portfolio of products. Advises on sales models, pricing, and channel strategies to optimize market access, identify new growth initiatives, and contribute to building a pipeline of strategic partnership opportunities. Serves as a top level specialist and developing subject matter expert on strategic sales plans and sales cycle management, providing actionable insights that drive complex sales cycle modifications to increase sales efficiency by streamlining processes. Evaluates the competitor landscape and conducts advanced market research to identify trends based on customer feedback and sales reporting data that inform the development and implementation of successful sales strategies. Designs and implements industry leading key performance indicators that track investments across new product development initiatives, evaluate sales performances, and identify on under-developed sales capabilities. Establishes relationships with key cross-functional departments and relevant stakeholders to ensure the success of product launches, product development, and go-to-market strategies that illustrate a unified advertising, branding, marketing, and sales approach. Coaches and trains junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities. Integrates Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with advanced degree or equivalent in applicable field
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience - required
  • Minimum of a Experience with content creation and digital learning & authoring tools

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of Instructional Design experience for the adult learner
  • Relevant experience in instructional design, learning & development, commercial education, or commercial functions (sales, marketing, etc)
  • Experience in medical device, healthcare, or commercial sales environments
  • Formal training or certification in Instructional Design (e.g., Langevin, ATD, CPTD)
  • Experience applying adult learning theory, needs analysis, and learning evaluation models (e.g., Kirkpatrick)
  • Global or OUS (Outside the US) learning experience is a plus
  • Proven ability to understand business strategy; translate it into learning solutions that support the company’s business goals
  • Track record of partnerships with multi functional teams and across the organization
  • Proven track record managing vendor resources
  • Proven project management, negotiation, and consulting skills
  • Medical Device, field sales, marketing or related experience
  • Latest knowledge on innovative Learning & Development standards

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging, scalable, and effective learning experiences using instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) tailored to adult learners in commercial roles.
  • Implements methods for assessing and identifying Sales Training program needs by using department performance reports, analyzing customer feedback and analytics data, benchmarking standard processes, and applying key metrics to measure effectiveness.
  • Leverage learning management systems (LMS), eLearning authoring tools, and emerging technologies (e.g., microlearning, mobile learning, simulations) to deliver modern learning experiences.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of various selling functions, their specific responsibilities and crucial roles, to develop department-specific sales training programs that deliver relevant education.
  • Acts as a top level specialist and developing subject matter authority on innovative commercial education, sales cycle management, and strategic sales plans and provides actionable insights from customer feedback and sales reporting data to inform training curriculum.
  • Partner with sales leaders, marketing, clinical, and global education teams to ensure learning solutions are aligned with strategic priorities and market needs.
  • Facilitates quality assessments of training programs and drives strategic plans to address knowledge gaps and ensure achievement of functional and organizational standards.
  • Confers with sales area leaders and internal partners to share new strategic sales concepts and innovations in clinical and product knowledge platforms that are crucial to sales performance.
  • Provide guidance to junior instructional designers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Integrates Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision making.
