About The Position

Secretariat is a global consulting firm that provides expertise in legal, risk, and regulatory matters. The Economics team advises clients on complex business, legal, and regulatory issues requiring economic analysis. This includes evaluating competitive effects of mergers, estimating damages in disputes, assessing compensation, and analyzing market regulations. Much of the work supports high-stakes litigation, regulatory investigations, and business disputes, demanding strong judgment, technical fluency, and the ability to communicate complex economic evidence effectively to courts, regulators, and decision-makers. The Manager will lead workstreams, guide analytical strategy, and develop insights for clients, counsel, regulators, and stakeholders. Projects involve high-stakes matters for prestigious law firms, government entities, Fortune 500 companies, and high-growth corporations within a dynamic, team-based organization.

Requirements

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or Public Policy (e.g., MBA, MA, MS, PhD preferred).
  • 4-6 years of experience at a consulting firm, law firm, regulatory agency, or corporate advisory role.
  • Proven experience working on high-profile intellectual property matters, antitrust matters or economic analysis in merger and conduct cases.
  • Strong project management and client-facing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues clearly to non-experts
  • Authorized to work in the US without the need for sponsorship in the future

Responsibilities

  • Lead one to three cases at a time
  • Manage teams of Associates
  • Organize case research and data analysis
  • Work closely with economists on a regular basis
  • Work with complex databases and raw client data in Stata, R, Databricks and other programs
  • Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel and ArcGIS for graphical and statistical analysis
  • Analyze industry participants and characteristics affecting market competition
  • Calculate cost and damages estimates
  • Consult with clients and private sources to obtain necessary data
  • Investigate industries and companies using online and government resources
  • Review litigation and case documents
  • Mentor junior members of the team and contribute to the growth and development of the IP team
