About The Position

The Manager – Direct Store Distribution oversees the order assembly function, leading daily operations to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant fulfillment. This role manages and develops the team, drives workflow optimization, and consistently meets distribution targets. The position partners closely with Customer Service and Fleet to support on-time delivery and transportation efficiency. This role requires a flexible schedule, including Sunday–Thursday, with occasional Fridays and holidays based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Direct Store Distribution, warehouse management, or a similar role.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in basic math and computer applications.
  • Completion of required training programs and adherence to standard work procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate a team of associates by leading, training, and developing the staff.
  • Manage the order assembly department operations to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient fulfilment of orders.
  • Collaborate with customer service and fleet departments to monitor the changes in routes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with logistics and fleet managers to implement an efficient shipping strategy.
  • Collaborate with the fleet manager to address truck or driver issues arising from routing errors, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Identify and implement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and maintain high service levels.
  • Enforce scanning and use of scan guns to move, store, pick and ship.
  • Utilize shipping software, such as TruckTrack, Optimo Route and M3 to organize, prioritize, and track shipping activities.
  • Analyze workflow inefficiencies and recommend process optimization solutions to enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Create and inspect labels according to customer specifications.
  • Demonstrate a hands- on approach by actively assisting the team with different tasks as required, including packing orders, loading the trucks, moving the trucks, etc.
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Assist billing team as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Partner with Shipping and Fleet Managers to schedule regular meetings focused on process improvement, GMP compliance, and training needs.
  • Support performance management through coaching, evaluations, and monitoring labor hours.
  • Control and minimize overtime through effective planning and oversight.
  • Assist with scheduling for the order assembly team.
  • Collaborate with the People Team to develop onboarding materials, training programs, and documentation.
  • Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures and address deviations.
  • Lead daily/weekly huddles and establish a consistent communication cadence.
  • Set clear goals, expectations, and accountability for direct reports.
