About The Position

Reporting to the VP, Digital, the Manager, Digital Product Innovation will play a critical role in driving the evolution of our digital ecosystem. This individual will lead a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing existing digital products by implementing innovative features that add measurable business value. Additionally, the role will concentrate on strategic initiatives, supporting the VP of Digital in identifying cutting-edge solutions in the marketplace to advance organizational goals such as growth, operational efficiency, self-service, and an exceptional member experience. This role is a key resource in leading the integration of ACU’s commitment to rural and agricultural communities, francophone services, values-based banking and ACU’s triple bottom line accountability to people, planet, and prosperity.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary education and a minimum of 8 years of business experience and/or product management in a digital platform. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Experience leading teams and driving results.
  • Experience in supporting or managing digital or technology products through the product life cycle
  • Strong problem solver with the ability to influence a team
  • Strong systems thinking skills and ability to make connections between disparate systems
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Product Ownership/Management or Project Management is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps, Scrum and agile methodologies is desirable.
  • Background in Fintech or other financial related product fields is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and mentor a high performing team of Digital Product Analysts to deliver and exceed expectations while coaching the team to realize their professional development
  • Adopts and sustains Engaging with Purpose practices including one on one coaching, observational coaching through team meetings and one-ones
  • Delegates responsibilities to the team and holds them accountable to achieving results.
  • Develops effective working relationships across all departments and with internal partners, acting as One Assiniboine to achieve ACU’s strategic objectives
  • Manages the budgets of the department that ensure cost efficient corporate spending based on business need including all capital, operating and personnel expenditures.
  • Maintains overall department service levels and standards, ensuring team capabilities support the delivery and execution of strategic and operational plans.
  • Consistently delivers business results through the achievement of KPIs and supports business partners in achieving collective success.
  • Contribute to the development, delivery, and implementation of the Digital strategy across ACU.
  • Leads annual planning and management of the digital portfolio and roadmap including the creation and maintenance of the prioritized product backlogs working directly with the VP, Digital and Digital team peers to ensure solutions align with the overarching strategy.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) of new features of the digital solution portfolio. Measure, analyze and present results accordingly.
  • Continuously research and maintain an understanding of the financial services industry and trends in digital banking
  • Establish relationships and networks that support the growth in digital technology products
  • Responsible for risk management and compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Demonstrates understanding of ACU’s commitment to values-based banking, respectful workplace and diversity and inclusion.
  • Act as an ambassador of ACU by being visible in the organization and the community in support of corporate and community initiatives.
  • Lead the research, analysis, implementation, and maintenance of solutions within the Digital portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the design, development and delivery teams to develop unique solutions to implementation challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal cross functional teams to ensure solutions are aligned to ACU’s digital roadmap and integrated into the organization effectively.
  • Assess and understand internal and external end users’ motivations and needs, leveraging design research and usability principles as well as intuitive design sense.
  • Understand the end users interactions and journeys in order to act as an advocate for the constant improvement of both.
  • Collaborate with business partners and member-facing teams to collect data and member insights related to digital solutions and member experience.
  • Engage with product and project teams writing and clarifying user stories, participating in sprint planning and reviews, backlog grooming, and prioritization
  • Collaborate with project teams and other stakeholders to determine feasible technical solutions and reasonable implementation timelines
  • Provide digital SME support and direction to analysis and project teams
  • Effectively communicate product release contents and expected product capabilities/member journey
  • Provide input to support stakeholders in the development of their adoption plans for digital banking related services.
  • Support the development of external marketing collateral and programs
  • Ensures internal and external facing marketing pages are updated as required by providing required information to Marketing Programs
  • Leads and collaborates on assessments of build or buy decisions including assessing pros and cons of choices and overall maintenance costs of these decisions short term and long term
  • Provides subject matter expert input and consultation to operational teams to ensure that all required system changes are effectively managed.
  • Provides guidance and direction for the analysis team to solve complex problems in a way that ensures that departmental standards are adhered to while delivering business value.
  • Monitors and manages integrations between applications (custom, package or Software as a Service) to identify opportunities to leverage existing and new technology to achieve maximum return on investment and continuously elevate the user experience
  • Prepares time and cost estimates for the installation of new systems and maintenance of existing solutions.
  • Leads the organization through the process of facilitating smooth handovers from project state to operational state for digital delivery team led projects
  • Develops ideation and solution methods and funnels to proactively identify new solutions and move through selection and implementation.
  • Develops position statements on solutions in market and competitive position.
  • Anticipates member needs and drives innovation through product increments
  • Research market in anticipation of solutions that align to ACU’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Leads authoring Opportunity Assessments and supports the development of OA’s that drive digital innovation and business transformation.
  • Oversees the development, administration and quality of applicable vendor relationships.
  • Holds vendors accountable to delivering within stated SLAs or contracts.
  • Support vendor negotiation process considering the cross functional aspects of ACUs business.
  • Proactively monitors and actions solution enhancements to maximize the value from all associated solutions and to achieve maximum return on investment.
  • Manages vendor contracts, vendor performance, and contract negotiations.
  • Initiates statement of works with vendors as required.
