The Manager of DevOps plays an important role in the organization by performing numerous activities related to the company’s Information Technology functions. At a high level, the role is primarily responsible for providing first-line leadership for a team of DevOps engineers and ensuring predictable execution of technology initiatives supporting enterprise, platform, transformation, and business priorities. This role is responsible for the day-to-day people leadership, delivery execution, capacity management, technical coordination, and stakeholder escalation for an assigned DevOps engineering team. The Manager establishes clear priorities, balances engineering capacity across concurrent initiatives and operational responsibilities, develops team members, removes delivery obstacles, and ensures accountability for committed outcomes. The Manager of DevOps also leads and matures engineering practices related to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), infrastructure-as-code (IaC), deployment and configuration automation, environment governance, platform access services, security and vulnerability remediation, and cloud and platform engineering. The role works closely with Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Data Operations (DataOps), Infrastructure Operations, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, business technology teams, and other stakeholders to ensure DevOps resources are effectively aligned to enterprise priorities. The Manager partners with the Director of Cloud & Platform Operations to execute DevOps strategy and operational plans. The Director retains overall accountability for DevOps and the broader Cloud & Platform Operations organization, while the Manager provides focused day-to-day leadership, delivery accountability, and employee development for the assigned DevOps team.
