About The Position

S&B is seeking a Manager of Development Operations to lead the development team and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating personnel, resources, and processes necessary to deliver new software solutions or upgrade existing products. Accountable for end-to-end secure delivery across a hybrid enterprise environment, spanning legacy systems and modern cloud platforms, with a strong focus on advancing cloud-native and containerized application patterns. Plays a key role in the organization’s technology modernization efforts, helping evolve existing systems and practices toward scalable, secure, automated, and cloud-aligned architectures. Fosters a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of technology and instills the principles of this culture in a team of developers. Must have 6 years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.

Requirements

  • 6 years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience.
  • Customer-facing manager with hands-on technical expertise.
  • 6-8 years of experience in modern software development, architecture, and DevOps.
  • Experience in agile tooling (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.).
  • Experience with deployment strategies supporting iterative and continuous development.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and operations.
  • Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions.
  • Experience working in environments with modern application development stacks, including Java (backend), Go (backend), ReactJS (frontend), and Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, release management, work tracking).
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working within Kubernetes/AKS containerized and cloud-native environments.
  • Strong ability to coach developers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate personnel, resources, and processes for new software solutions or upgrades.
  • Ensure end-to-end secure delivery across hybrid enterprise environments, including legacy systems and cloud platforms.
  • Advance cloud-native and containerized application patterns.
  • Evolve existing systems and practices towards scalable, secure, automated, and cloud-aligned architectures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement in technology.
  • Instill principles of continuous improvement in the development team.
  • Supervise up to 20-25 developers.
  • Contribute to technology strategy and planning.
  • Research emerging technologies to support systems development.
  • Recommend new technologies, features, or non-functional requirements to increase cost-effectiveness and systems flexibility.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate procedures and processes.
  • Provide guidance to the team and ensure adherence to development standards.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and ensure the completion of tasks and projects.
  • Create strategic targets for the team.
  • Provide mentoring and training.
  • Identify skills needed for support and development projects and recruit team members.
  • Recruit, hire, and manage full-time developers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Evaluate performance of staff.
  • Allocate resources for development projects and support.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are in place.
  • Solve complex technical challenges.
  • Enforce DevOps pipeline for projects.
  • Conduct weekly 1-1s with developers for career guidance.
