About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Manager Day Services is to lead the team that delivers person-centered care and services to individuals in a day services setting, aligning with the purpose: “We believe the world shines brighter when people with developmental disabilities achieve their full potential.” This role involves significant leadership, focusing on developing and empowering teams, fostering collaboration, and removing barriers to achieve high levels of engagement and results. The manager will partner with operational leaders, human resources, quality, and nursing for onboarding, training, and development. Key aspects include ensuring consistent implementation of AbleLight operating procedures and state/local regulations, acting as a resource for team members and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance, and HIPAA policies. The position also requires preparing reports, recommending quality improvements, and maintaining collaborative partnerships. A core function is delivering person-centered care, following established plans, leveraging health and human resource technology for documentation, and developing innovative programming to teach life skills, increase community participation, and assist individuals in maintaining health and safety skills.

Requirements

  • High School Degree
  • Two to three years of previous experience in a work position, volunteer/community role, or educational setting that focuses on serving and helping others
  • Two to three years of previous leadership experience
  • Ability to be flexible on hours in your local program to assist colleagues and those we serve
  • Knowledge of serving others, giving & receiving feedback, holding self & others accountable
  • Skills in collaboration, listening, conflict resolution, and leveraging technology to the fullest
  • Ability for quality and continuous improvement of self and processes

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team that delivers person centered care and services to those we support in day services setting.
  • Align the passion and talents of others to serve the people we support by actively developing others, empowering teams, promoting collaboration, removing barriers, achieving results, showing recognition and appreciation to attract and retain diverse talent and achieve high levels of engagement.
  • Create an environment where everyone can thrive.
  • In partnership with operational leaders, human resources, quality, and nursing: welcome, onboard, and train and mentor new colleagues on the team.
  • Identify additional training and development needs for all staff as part of Quarterly Connections.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership behaviors leading the way through individual behavior.
  • In collaboration with operational leaders and colleagues, ensure standard AbleLight operating procedures and any related state and local regulations and expectations are implemented consistently across the day services in area of accountability.
  • Function as a resource for days services team members, colleagues, persons we support, or parents & guardians if program efforts to resolve a topic are not successful.
  • Ensure program services and staff practices follow AbleLight Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit all required reports, statistics, and quality assurance functions to verify program services.
  • Bring recommendations forward related to quality and process improvements for our employees and those we serve to enhance standard operations.
  • Complete all individual training and development required by local, state, federal and AbleLight policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a strong and collaborative working partnership with all colleagues, leadership, PWS, and parents & guardians with a focus on budget and metrics to positively influence the program, grow day services and to achieve our balanced scorecard results.
  • Deliver person centered care and services to those we are blessed to serve.
  • Follow established plans created in collaboration with the person we support, parents & guardians, external clinical or local/state representative & providers, internal partners in nursing and quality, and operational leadership.
  • Leverage our health information technology, human resource technology fully and ensure timely, comprehensive, and objective documentation.
  • Develop, plan and coordinate innovate programming and services designed to teach individuals life skills necessary to establish and maintain their independence.
  • Increase individuals’ participation in social and community based activities.
  • Increase individuals’ range of socially appropriate behaviors and habits to increase acceptance and integration in the community at large.
  • Assist individuals in maintaining health and safety skills.
