About The Position

CodeAI is seeking a Manager, CS & AI Curriculum to lead and manage its curriculum content development team. This role is responsible for the quality of K-12 CS and AI curriculum, including AI Foundations, AI Discoveries, and CS Fundamentals, which are used by hundreds of thousands of students globally. The position involves upholding existing curriculum standards while driving innovation, particularly in leveraging AI for content creation. It is ideal for an individual passionate about curriculum development and team leadership.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in designing and developing K-12 curriculum and learning content at scale, preferably in CS and AI, with experience leading content development teams in the ed tech/curriculum sector.
  • 2+ years of experience as a people manager is strongly preferred; equivalent experience in mentoring team members and managing contractors, with a track record of growing content or curriculum staff, will be considered.
  • Deep knowledge of CS and AI concepts relevant to at least the K-12 grade bands of the CSTA standards and the AI Literacy Framework.
  • Fluency in at least one text-based programming language (Python or JavaScript).
  • A deep and current understanding of curriculum development principles and frameworks, including designing effective online and blended learning experiences and best practices in pedagogical design.
  • Demonstrated commitment to content quality, including setting standards, managing review processes, and providing developmental feedback to content creators.
  • Demonstrated commitment to innovation in the curriculum space.
  • Direct experience teaching CS and/or AI in a K-12 setting.
  • Interest and experience in incorporating AI into content-development workflows to enhance quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading and prioritizing multiple complex projects with many moving parts, ideally using project management tools.
  • A deep understanding of best practices for equitable classrooms and student-centered pedagogy.
  • Experience building and maintaining cross-functional and cross-organizational relationships.
  • A growth mindset and the ability to drive clarity through ambiguity.
  • A passion for CS and AI education and the CodeAI mission.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Must work within the continental United States.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Willingness to travel a minimum of two times per year for team events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of curriculum content developers, contractors, and part-time staff, focusing on mentorship, growth, and fostering an inclusive, productive team culture.
  • Translate product and content strategy into actionable development plans, create high-level content designs, and guide the team in executing the roadmap to achieve organizational goals.
  • Lead the team in building and launching curriculum content, including creating roadmaps, setting milestones, allocating resources, and standardizing workflows and development processes.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for pedagogy, technical accuracy, and craft across all products, and manage an external review process involving subject matter experts and teacher reviewers.
  • Oversee curriculum partnerships, including externally developed content, ensuring quality and adherence to CodeAI standards.
  • Drive innovation in curriculum design and development, including integrating AI into content-development workflows and exploring new methods for creating engaging learning experiences.
  • Engage with teachers and students to gather insights and data, ensuring content decisions are grounded in their actual needs.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with product management, design, engineering, marketing, and data teams, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and leadership.
