About The Position

The American Academy of Dermatology is seeking a Manager, Corporate Relations responsible for helping drive the strategy and implementation of corporate fundraising plans as well as partner cultivation. This role provides vision and oversight of recognition and stewardship programs. The Manager works cross-departmentally to identify new engaging opportunities to grow revenue with a direct focus on bundled sponsorship packages as well as program and meeting support. This role leads a team to qualify prospective supporters for funding priorities, including grants, sponsorships, and other philanthropic support, to help achieve annual revenue goals. The Manager collaborates with internal stakeholders to create sponsorship benefits and materials for team success. Additionally, the Manager manages a targeted portfolio of industry partner and oversees the current and prospective Corporate Partner Circle Members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in fundraising field required, with minimum 6 years’ experience based on position.
  • Advanced degree or certification in area of expertise may be required.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge software strongly preferred.
  • Understanding various corporate fundraising techniques, including sponsorships, partnerships, and cause-related marketing.
  • Insight into how businesses integrate social and environmental concerns into their operations and how these can align with fundraising goals.
  • Understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and financial planning to effectively manage funds and demonstrate the impact of donations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, stakeholders, and other key figures.
  • Skilled in negotiating terms and agreements that benefit both the organization and the corporate partner.
  • Strong skills in creating and delivering compelling presentations to corporate audiences.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful execution of fundraising activities.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate corporate partner relationships with year-round effort, including, but not limited to, in-person strategy visits, monthly calls and annual Return On Investment (ROI) reviews.
  • Oversee the development of prospect qualification and pipeline development for funding priorities, specific to our grants and corporate philanthropic giving strategy, to address needs and raise revenue tied to AAD’s revenue strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with select industry partners in portfolio while working across the Academy to oversee the full range of activities required to meet deliverables of sponsorship agreements.
  • Strategize and implement benefits, plans, and process to attract, renew and grow relationships with current and prospective corporate supporters for team success; this includes proposal and prospectus development, identifying engagement and recognition opportunities and working with internal stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Along with the Corporate Team, collaborate with Marketing and Communications to set the strategy of the development and successful execution of Academy materials related to our corporate partners.
  • Help manage, in collaboration with the Director, Corporate Partnerships and Giving the corporate giving team’s revenue and expense budget as well as partnering with finance to forecast information as requested.
  • With the Director, Corporate Partnerships and Giving, identify agenda topics and coordinate panel discussions for Corporate Partner Summit, inclusive of subject matter experts from both membership and partners.
  • Support to Community, Corporate & Philanthropic Relations council and committee work, as needed.
