About The Position

The Manager, Corporate Development will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of Alamos Gold’s long-term growth strategy through mergers and acquisitions, investments, and divestments. This includes a central role in identifying and evaluating external growth opportunities, and other strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or mining industry roles
  • Strong knowledge of the mining industry including an understanding of the key operational, technical and financial metrics required for asset valuation
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Working knowledge of Capital IQ and Bloomberg
  • Experience using and managing virtual data rooms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including preparing memos and presentations
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, and competing priorities
  • Collaborative and a team player
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CFA and/or CPA designation is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate acquisition, divestiture, and other opportunities
  • Conduct detailed financial modeling and valuation of mining companies and assets, and support analysis of potential acquisition opportunities
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of producing, development and early-stage companies and assets
  • Manage and maintain virtual data rooms and information requests
  • Manage due diligence processes, and collaborate with the technical, legal, and financial teams on conducting detailed reviews
  • Monitor and report on industry trends, as well as peer and target activities
  • Support capital allocation decisions and investment recommendations
  • Prepare presentations for senior management
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including investment banks, consultants, and legal advisors during transactions, and support integration efforts
  • Collaborate and contribute to Investor Relations function periodically
