The Manager - Corporate Analytics has deep and extensive knowledge of and vast experience with Analytics principles, practices, concepts, and theories in the Power and Utilities sector. The incumbent is responsible for implementing strategic, operational, regulatory and financial plans related to analytics, with impact at an enterprise level. The incumbent will require close interaction with the Executive Management Team and Committee members who serve on the Board of Directors on various future focused analytical scenarios and ensure the Cleco portfolio is viewed in a holistic manner to fulfill strategic goals. The incumbent will have significant exposure across the company and must be able to effectively provide analysis, communicate the analysis and deliver outcomes to all levels of the company. This role will require an incumbent who is a self-starter and a team leader as there may be little or no direction to complete certain projects. The incumbent is accountable for the performance and development of employees with Corporate Analytics responsibilities.

Requirements

Strong business acumen pertaining to the utility industry
Core knowledge of Finance principles, theories and concepts and understanding of the markets
Strategic thinker with exceptional interpersonal skills who is successful at working collaboratively with various groups and upper management
Ability to negotiate and influence with a consultative approach
Strong planning, project management, communications, negotiation, writing, speaking, and listening skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret business, workforce and Finance KRAs/KPIs/metrics into actionable insights and decision making
Ability to exercise sound judgment with little direction/guidance but also knows when to escalate issues to the Assistant Treasurer
Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
5+ years of related experience
Experience and ability to lead Corporate Analytics staff across projects towards a common vision
Experience with Microsoft tools and applications required

Nice To Haves

2+ years people management experience, preferred
Experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP) preferred
CFA preferred

Responsibilities

Champions a corporate culture that emphasizes transparency, integrity, safety, environmental responsibility, employee development, sense of belonging, customer service, and operational excellence
Lead decision making by supporting business leaders through provision of strategic analysis on business growth and new opportunities, strategic corporate efforts, integrated resource plan, future renewable projects, capital projects, revenue requirements, long-term and short-term incentive plan, and power markets, with research and understanding underlying economic impacts between supply and demand
Manage overall business expectations and perceptions, and support ongoing two-way communication of organization performance by monitoring and reporting key performance metrics to senior management, and provide overall narrative on any improvements needed and the levers for these improvements
Contribute to overall business planning process by working with key stakeholders and providing insights around capital projects and revenue requirements; manage and oversee the delivery of multiple projects and ensure business expectations, goals and objectives are understood and met through these projects
Lead the development and maintenance of strategic financial modeling tools and scenarios; own and oversee the accuracy of the models and collaborate with multiple teams within and outside finance to improve the process of financial modelling
Drive the development of standards and decisions regarding improvements to functional processes including identification of new tools and technologies; constantly identify and implement industry leading practices to the organization
Responsible for the performance and development of employees within Corporate Analytics, enabling them to deliver excellent operational performance with a customer-centric approach; act as a sounding board for the team
Develop solid business relationships, becoming a trusted advisor, with internal and external stakeholders to drive success for Corporate Analytics function; ensure agile approach to Corporate Analytics function is being executed in order to serve market trends and achieve customer centricity
Responsible for leading all project teams to achieve Corporate Analytics function's targets through highly complex objectives, milestones, obstacles and priorities while focusing on delivering on 1-3-year plans aligned with Cleco’s vision
Oversee, manage, and be accountable for Corporate Analytics targets and operating budget
