About The Position

The Manager, Corporate Accounting position will play a critical role in managing the accounting and reporting for pension and postretirement plans, stock-based compensation, and WHQ reporting from supporting complex projects and the resulting accounting conclusions to recording journal entries and providing required disclosures for SEC filings. This position will interact with Treasury, Benefits, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, external consultants, and external auditors. This position will perform technical accounting and SEC research in order to provide management with timely information for decision-making and analysis. The position may also assist in other areas of Corporate Accounting (e.g., debt, leasing, derivatives), as needed, and significant projects, which vary based on the Company’s business transactions and priorities (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, new policies, new types of transactions, training initiatives, benchmarking, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
  • Minimum of four years of experience; some public accounting with emphasis in SEC engagements preferred
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage and prioritize multiple projects, while effectively operating in a fast-paced, complex global organization with shifting schedules and priorities
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and achieve high quality results
  • Excellent analytical, teamwork, customer service and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion Financial Management and Workiva a plus

Responsibilities

  • Managing and reviewing corporate accounting activity for pension and postretirement plans, stock-based compensation, and WHQ reporting
  • Preparing required disclosures to support SEC filings
  • Overseeing the preparation of benefit plan financial statements
  • Preparation and submission of forecasts to FP&A
  • Monitoring US GAAP and SEC developments and evaluating the impacts of new accounting and reporting rules
  • Researching technical accounting matters
  • Maintaining and performing SOX controls
  • Partnering with external consultants
  • Working with external auditors
  • Assisting with projects relating to M&A activity, accounting, and reporting as required
