About The Position

NerdWallet is seeking a detail-oriented and execution-focused Accounting Manager to support its growing and increasingly complex accounting operations. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting and Compliance, this role will own several key general ledger areas—including compensation, leases, accruals, and consolidations—while playing a critical role in managing the month-end close, internal reporting, and audit readiness. This is a high-impact role designed for a strong operator who can drive execution, bring structure to complex processes, and has a clear path to owning the full month-end close over time. The position involves building deep ownership over critical GL areas in a complex, high-growth environment, scaling accounting processes following multiple acquisitions, and helping shape a more efficient, scalable, and audit-ready accounting function. The successful candidate will also develop into broader ownership of the month-end close over time.

  • Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite)
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven, with a strong sense of ownership over deliverables
  • Detail-oriented and hands-on, comfortable operating in the weeds while managing processes
  • A strong executor who can independently drive work to completion in a fast-paced environment
  • A clear communicator who can coordinate across teams and ensure accountability during the close process
  • A collaborative leader who can develop team members while maintaining high standards
