The mission of the Office of the University Counsel (the “OUC”) is to apply sound judgment, thoughtful analysis, and constructive advice to help identify and manage risk, legal and otherwise; provide legal advice and services that are timely, pragmatic, and proactive; and work with academic and administrative units to streamline legal processes, wherever appropriate. The Manager, Conflict of Interest, leads the OUC’s analysis and review of the University’s complex COI Policy (SC3) and related matters. The Manager identifies and leads initiatives to promote awareness of, compliance with, and effectiveness of the COI Policy. The Manager oversees the administration and updating of the University’s systems for declaring conflicts of interest while also providing consultation services and advice to the University community about the University’s policies relating to conflicts of interest. The Manager works closely with the University Counsel, the University’s Conflict of Interest Committee and with the Chair of that Committee.
