About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Compliance Advisory & Challenge, the Manager of Compliance will be responsible for a portfolio of critical compliance program functions within Amex Bank of Canada’s Compliance Advisory & Challenge team. The role will have four primary strategic components to it: Leading Compliance Issue Management and Operational Risk Event oversight, including assessment of issues and events, effective challenge of business actions and remediation plans, and ensuring timely and sustainable resolution of compliance risks; Oversight of privacy compliance advisory and risk management, including personal information access requests, data breach response, privacy risk assessments, and privacy risk pillar reporting within Canada; Conducting Compliance, Conduct and Integrity & Security risk assessments; and Compliance challenge across various Bank departments’ RCSA control frameworks. This position must maintain a clear understanding of regulatory requirements, internal expectations, and processes across all lines of business to successfully control and mitigate risk. The role contributes to the development and maintenance of a strong Compliance regime and culture aligned with Canadian regulatory requirements and internal American Express policies. The role will also have responsibility for leading a team of two (2) Compliance Analysts and requires strong partnerships with business leadership teams and risk functions to ensure effective regulatory risk management. Requirements

  • Clear understanding of regulatory requirements, internal expectations, and processes across all lines of business to successfully control and mitigate risk
  • Ability to contribute to the development and maintenance of a strong Compliance regime and culture aligned with Canadian regulatory requirements and internal American Express policies
  • Experience in leading a team
