Manager, Community Communications, Foundation

Tory Burch•New York, NY
•$90,000 - $110,000

About The Position

We are an American luxury lifestyle brand, founded in 2004. Anchored in the casual elegance of American sportswear, Tory’s design philosophy is defined by effortless silhouettes, innovative materials, eclectic juxtapositions of color, and the tension of past and present. The collections include ready-to-wear, handbags, footwear, accessories, jewelry, home and beauty. Empowering women is the company’s guiding principle, expressed through Tory’s collections and reflected in the company culture as well as the work of the Tory Burch Foundation. Established in 2009, the Foundation provides women entrepreneurs in the United States with access to capital, education and community. You are seeking a work environment where people are encouraged to dream, explore, discover and, as important, laugh together. If you’re prepared to work hard, create impact, and have fun while doing it, we would love to have you join #TeamTory. Apply today! This Role is Tailor-Made for You Because: Our Fellows are extraordinary women entrepreneurs. They’re building businesses, managing teams, raising families, and doing it largely without the safety nets that more resourced entrepreneurs take for granted. The communications they receive from us aren’t just messages - they’re signals that someone is paying attention, that their community remembers them, that belonging here means something. As the single intake point for everyone inside the Foundation who wants to reach our Tory Burch Fellows, you’ll prioritize, sequence, consolidate, and when necessary, say no. You manage message volume so Fellows receive a coherent stream rather than a pile of competing asks, and you set production deadlines for contributors across the organization then hold them. Every subject line, every nudge, every celebratory shoutout carries the weight of that relationship. You write with the warmth of someone who actually knows these women and the precision of someone who knows exactly what gets opened.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years in communications, lifecycle or CRM marketing, member engagement, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated ownership of a retention or re-engagement program with results you can describe in specifics
  • Hands-on experience with a marketing automation or CRM platform (Klaviyo preferred; HubSpot, Braze, Iterable, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud considered)
  • Fluency with segmentation, audience data, and campaign reporting
  • Excellent writing and editing, with the discipline to write within an established voice rather than around it
  • Hands-on event marketing experience including registration campaigns, attendee communications, or audience building
  • Track record managing a communications calendar across multiple internal stakeholders, including telling colleagues when something will not go out
  • Strong project management
  • Familiarity with community platforms (Circle, Mighty Networks, Discourse) and event technology (Swoogo or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Owning the Channels: You own Fellows primary messaging in their online Circle community and Klaviyo — templates, segmentation, automated workflows, list hygiene, and deliverability. You manage the shared Fellows inbox and inbound ticketing in Monday Service. You extend into additional channels when there’s a clear rationale: social, print, calendar outreach. Every channel has a strategy behind it and every send has a purpose.
  • This role sends but it’s also deeply diagnostic. When a founder who was once active goes quiet, you don’t just nudge her - you get curious. You partner with the Senior Manager of Community to study her cohort, her stage, her patterns, and then you find the right message, the right moment, and the right tone to pull her back in.
  • Marketing the Moments: When our annual Fellows gathering (called Founders Circle), a regional dinner, or virtual programming is on the horizon, you lead communications front to back — save-the-dates, registration campaigns, waitlist management, and audience-specific messaging. You own attendance targets, adjust mid-campaign when pacing is off, and manage the post-event arc that converts gathering energy into sustained participation.
  • Holding the Voice: Every message that reaches a Fellow clears your desk. You partner with Marketing on voice and creative so Fellow communications feel connected to the broader Foundation brand. Additionally, not every message is a celebration — some days you’ll draft program changes or declined applications that require clarity and care in equal measure. How the Foundation communicates in difficult moments defines its character as much as the good ones.
  • Measuring What Matters: You’ll define and report the metrics that matter (reach, engagement, reactivation rate, survey completion, and event attendance) and build a reporting rhythm for the Experience team. You’ll run a consistent testing practice, document what you learn, and bring data-backed recommendations when communications reveal something about the community itself. This is a role for someone who believes that how you say something is inseparable from what you’re saying and who finds real meaning in making sure every Fellow hears from us with intention.
