About The Position

The NHC is seeking a collaborative and skilled Manager, Communications to lead corporate communications and public engagement across Nunavut. Reporting to the Director, Policy and Strategic Planning, this position provides communications advice and support to the Minister, Board of Directors, Senior Management, and staff, ensuring Nunavummiut understand NHC programs, services, and housing initiatives. This position oversees strategic communications, media relations, digital platforms, and public messaging, ensuring communications are timely, consistent, and aligned with GN and NHC priorities. Success in this role requires more than technical expertise; it calls for systems thinking and cultural humility to navigate complex issues, support informed decision-making, and ensure communications reflect Inuit societal values and Northern realities. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator and trusted advisor with experience in public affairs, issues management, and leadership within government, public sector, or Northern environments.
