About The Position

The Manager of Commissioning Services is responsible for managing Team Leads and directing the day-to-day commissioning of robotic cells. The Commissioning Manager is responsible for planning and maintaining schedule, planning, workforce, coordinating the installation, engineering and other commissioning managers. The commissioning manager will be responsible for coordinating hands-off and pre-commissioning validation with installation, schedule commissioning team members and contractor, review performances, maintain site status KPI and prepare reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or in automated production management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a team leader in the field of automated commissioning systems.
  • Expertise in Allen Bradley PLCs, Rockwell Automation platforms, and Siemens PLCs.
  • Skilled in HMI development and integration and ABB and Fanuc robots.
  • Strong knowledge of Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, and industrial networking protocols.
  • Proficient in PanelView Plus or similar interfaces, plus experience with Linux and Windows environments.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, SQL and relational database management.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks, documenting procedures, and providing leadership in problem resolution.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting automated systems.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take on increased responsibilities in a fast-paced role.
  • Willingness to deepen knowledge of complex systems.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to collaborate across engineering teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with cross functional business leaders to prep, plan, and launch the site commissioning schedule.
  • Managing and building out the budgets for each site and preparing reporting on the progress of commissioning and testing in relation to budget target and goals.
  • Manage and lead multiple sites at the commission stage while ensuring projects have proper resources allocation in order to meet target timelines and budgets.
  • Present reports on the progress of commissioning and testing to site support team and cross functional leadership partners within Symbotic and for our customers.
  • Be a core manager who develops, coaches, and mentors the Site Team Leader and their direct reports.
  • Lead daily scrum meetings for the operational team and participate in the site scrum meeting for team leaders and site managers.
  • Participate in various initiatives of continuous production improvement, standardization and improvement of the installation and start-up processes, while ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies.
