About The Position

The individual in this position will leverage strategic development, critical-thinking, and communication skills to proactively anticipate the needs of the Commercial organization. This manager is a nimble player who can deploy across the Commercial team to offer strategic support to projects on both an ad hoc and an ongoing basis. This role requires an extensive understanding of the operating mandates of the LA28 landscape, coupled with experience dealing with Sales teams and Partnerships teams. This position requires a high aptitude for executive communication including the ability to convey strategy, partnership and deal structure, and commercial decisions in a clear and compelling fashion to an executive audience. Ability to think creatively with limited assets is critical; the individual in this role must have an appetite for problem solving in an environment of ambiguity. This role reports to the VP of Commercial Strategy & Philanthropy

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of work experience in Olympic & Paralympic Movement, sports, entertainment, or media
  • Background in one or more of: management consulting, partnership management, business development, or fundraising
  • Familiarity with sales and marketing organizations
  • Ability to work on-site in an open office environment, based in Los Angeles, CA
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment
  • Ability to grow strong relationships with senior leaders and LA28/USOPP executives
  • Address challenges with diplomacy and tact
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Comfort with presentation development, including strong proficiency with PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in achieving $200M+ in philanthropy fundraising by: Working with recipient Functional Areas (FAs) (ticketing, Cultural Olympiad, Sustainability, Education, and other Impact areas) to develop and operationalize their programs
  • Developing assets to support campaign development & donor strategy
  • Integrating with the broader rights & benefits matrix
  • Ensuring proper “handoffs” between philanthropy consultants and LA28
  • Identify, explore, and design commercial strategies related to new business opportunities and fundraising initiatives (e.g. Dissolution strategy, media opportunities, live sites models, etc).
  • Effectively manage internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to LA28 Chairperson, USOPF, impacted FAs, and other parts of the Commercial organization.; Support in preparing board level presentations
  • Maintain a direct line of communication and integration with Non-Sponsor Partners workstream, helping define and manage rights and benefits across the various types of relationships.
