About The Position

As a Manager, Cloud Accounting Services, you will lead client engagements across cloud accounting, operational finance, and advisory services. You will act as a trusted point of contact for clients, including owners, executive directors, finance leaders, and municipal staff. You will support and deliver fractional controller and CFO-for-hire services such as cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and process improvement. You will also identify opportunities to expand client relationships through additional advisory and project work. In this role, you will oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes for complex clients, review working papers, reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure quality and accuracy. You will plan and manage engagement timelines, staffing, and budgets, ensuring work is delivered efficiently using cloud-based technologies and standardized workflows. Additionally, you will lead, coach, and develop junior team members, allocate work, review outputs, and provide clear, practical feedback. You will support performance development through coaching, on-the-job learning, and file review processes, and contribute to building a strong, collaborative team culture. You will also contribute to the growth and development of the practice, support the adoption of new tools, processes, and AI-enabled workflows, assist with proposals, scoping, and pricing of client work where appropriate, and share knowledge and practical insights across the team.

Requirements

  • A passion for technology and innovative thinking
  • CPA or CPB Designation or equivalent experience required
  • 6+ years accounting related experience
  • QuickBooks ProAdvisor and Xero Certification
  • Experience with Dext, Plooto, and Hubdoc
  • Strong management skills, especially in areas of scheduling, organizing, supervising and collaborating across teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud based payroll, payment processing and CRMs preferred including Wagepoint and Payworks
  • Superior technical expertise in accounting, both privately held business and publicly listed company experience considered an asset
