About The Position

The manager, as a leader and member of the management team within the program/clinical area is responsible and accountable for the co-ordination and direction of all patient care related activities within the area, in collaboration with the Director of the Regional Cancer Program. All staff assigned to the clinical area report directly to the manager with regards to patient care and staff issues. He/she provides an environment that supports and advances professional practice. He/she leads the team in implementing evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a patient centred care philosophy. He/she role models professional and organizational core competencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in a health related discipline required
  • Minimum of five years recent and relevant clinical experience in an acute care setting required
  • Registered in good standing with a Regulated College if appropriate to the individual’s profession
  • Must be able to perform all necessary bona fide duties for the position, as outlined in the position guide.
  • Must review and be capable of performing duties as outlined in the Job Demands Analysis for the position as a condition of offer.
  • Proven ability to attend work regularly as per the Attendance Support Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum three years recent experience in a healthcare administrative or leadership position preferred
  • Membership in professional affiliations as appropriate
  • OHA Management Courses; Departmental Management Series I, (Series II optional) or equivalent Clinical Leadership Program preferred
  • Masters Degree in health related discipline preferred
