The role supports the primary care practice that consists of both internal medicine and family practice providers. The Richfield clinic is a multi-specialty site (which this role indirectly supports as the on-site leadership team).

Requirements

• Associate's or Vocational degree required for legacy staff (staff who were hired into or already in positions where requirements changed after the staff was hired)
• Bachelor’s degree required. May consider those without a current Bachelor’s degree if they have strong clinic leadership background, and have completed either an Associates or a minimum of 60 credits towards a Bachelors and are willing to complete the Bachelors within 4 years
• 5 to 7 years leadership experience (3 years must include supervisory or management experience in healthcare operations)

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with lead provider(s) in the shared accountability for daily operations and overall clinic performance.
• Supports the delivery of care at one or more small or medium sized clinics that support less than 80,000 annual visits.
• Recruits, selects and onboards high talent staff, leaders and providers.
• Manages staff and leaders' performance.
• Works with clinician leader to communicate and engage staff, leaders, and providers in key initiatives.
• Ensures staff are appropriately trained and operating within in scope and at the top of their licensure/role.
• Ensures staff and providers have equipment, tools and resources to do their work.
• Maintains an understanding of daily functions to ensure delivery on all accountabilities and tasks.
• Identifies and communicates needs and/or changes that affect the work and escalates concerns as appropriate.
• Analyzes and act on employee engagement data.
• Maintains a strong presence, demonstrating awareness and involvement in clinic activities.
• Role model and mentor poise, presence, positive change influence.
• Communicates with and engage leaders and staff in key initiatives by sharing a clear, compelling vision that allows them to see their contribution and role in the work to ensure continuous improvement.
• Works with staff and physicians to develop and implement objectives for the provision of safe and effective patient care.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of policies and procedures and make recommendations for change.
• Skilled in the development of leaders at the site to manage staff and performance issues.
• Identifies and acts on opportunities to improve patient experience. Leads new patient experience initiatives.
• Ensure staff and providers have knowledge of and access to patient experience feedback and initiatives.
• Addresses site level patient concerns.
• Represents Allina Health in the local community (community events, health fairs, community partnerships of various kinds) as appropriate.
• Seeks opportunities to promote development and growth as a leader including meeting facilitation and representation locally, and across Allina Health Group.
• Shares best practices within region and across AHG.
• Models and promotes collaboration within business unit, between depts./staff/providers, and patients/customers to achieve results and improve performance.
• Overcomes barriers, creates internal and external relationships to meet both company and community needs.
• Ensures staff and key stakeholders are involved in timely communications and information sharing.
• Develops new clinical service line programs and services.
• Develops and executes strategic planning and business development for programs and services for their location(s).
• Provides oversight for the implementation of new programs and services at their location(s).
• Coordinates service line activities at their location(s).
• Collaborates with leadership to plan, implement and manage operational initiatives and tactical plans, tracking operations performance against key performance indicators.
• Reviews and analyzes dashboards and reporting templates to highlight performance including variances.
• Develops business plans for new programs, services and markets to enhance existing programs in order to grow the local market share.
• Manages relationships with leaders, physicians, and external partners to gain confidence and engagement in strategic and operational initiatives.
• Participates in decision-making activities with executive management, internal and external stakeholders.
• Accountable for management of clinic financials, operating expenses, and productivity for overall clinic performance.
• Proactively reviews reports to assess and problem solve to align operating expenses and productivity.
• Identifies and plans for future capital needs and growth in partnerships with regional director.
• Ensures proper revenue cycle management workflows are in place and maintained.
• Collaborates with lead physician to manage provider productivity.
• Accountability with Dyad partner to lead and develop a culture of safety and focus on High Reliability Organization.
• Ensures adherence to all safety, risk and compliance policies and procedures.
• Oversight of supervisors to ensure site is compliant with state regulations (hazardous waste, MNVFC, DME, etc.).
• Observes drills as appropriate to gauge level of preparedness and proactively address gaps.
• Participates in site safety meetings, rounding, audits and events as appropriate.
• Responsible for ensuring any regulatory and accreditation expectations have been met.
