Manager, Client Services Engineering

ChipotleColumbus, OH
$116,000 - $162,500Hybrid

About The Position

The Manager, Client Services Engineering leads the team responsible for Chipotle’s end-user computing environment and productivity platforms. In this role, you manage the engineers who design and support our corporate technology experience – including collaboration tools (Microsoft 365 suite, Teams, SharePoint), and identity/access management (Entra). You will plan and execute initiatives to modernize workplace technology (for example, improved device deployment automation, new collaboration features, or integrating AI tools like Microsoft Copilot) to enhance employee productivity and satisfaction. Your leadership ensures that Chipotle’s workforce has reliable, secure, and innovative technology at their fingertips, aligning with strategic goals of an exceptional employee digital experience and efficient IT operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
  • 8+ years technical experience and 2+ years management experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of end-user technology ecosystems, including endpoint management, collaboration platforms, and identity/directory services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a technical team focused on user experience – you can set a vision for workplace technology, prioritize the team’s project portfolio (e.g., Windows 11 upgrades, new mobile device programs, enhancing video conferencing), and coordinate execution to deliver measurable improvements in employee productivity and satisfaction.
  • A user-centric and data-informed approach: you gather feedback from end-users and support teams, monitor metrics (ticket trends, device health scores, adoption rates of tools), and use this data to guide enhancements or advocate for new solutions that address root causes of user pain points.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills – you regularly interface with HR (for onboarding/offboarding processes), Facilities (for conference room tech), Information Security (for device compliance and data protection), and others, ensuring Client Services initiatives are aligned with broader business processes and security requirements. You can effectively make the case for necessary investments or changes to senior leadership by highlighting business benefits.
  • Excellent communication and organizational change skills: you can translate technical changes into plain language for company-wide announcements or training materials, and you know how to drive user adoption of new tools (via pilots, tutorials, champion user networks, etc.). You inspire confidence that the IT client engineering team is enabling everyone to do their best work with technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree or relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator, or ITIL Practitioner) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Client Services Engineering (Endpoint Engineering) team, setting priorities for ongoing projects such as software rollouts and enhancements to collaboration platforms. Ensure that team efforts are aligned with business needs and the infrastructure strategy (e.g., advancing digital workplace capabilities and automation).
  • Oversee the enterprise endpoint management program: this involves managing tools for device configuration and policy enforcement (Intune/Endpoint Manager, Windows Autopilot, etc.), improving patch management and software distribution processes, and ensuring all corporate endpoints (PCs, Macs, mobile devices) are secure and up to date.
  • Guide the administration and continuous improvement of corporate productivity and communication platforms (Office 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint). Drive the adoption of new features and optimize configurations for performance and security.
  • Coordinate closely with the Client Services Support team and other IT groups on user-impacting issues and changes. When advanced support needs arise (e.g., widespread Outlook issues or a significant Teams outage), ensure your engineering team provides Tier-3 expertise to resolve the problem and communicate root causes/solutions. Similarly, plan change deployments (like a new software version or security setting) in conjunction with support and change management processes to minimize disruption.
  • Mentor and develop the Client Services Engineering team members, fostering skills in modern endpoint engineering, scripting/automation (such as PowerShell for task automation), and cloud service management. Promote best practices for user experience design, security compliance (device encryption, data loss prevention on endpoints), and documentation of configurations. Evaluate team performance and provide feedback and training opportunities to build a versatile, high-performing team.
