About The Position

The Manager, ChemE Practice School Operations will manage the day-to-day operations, administration, and finances of a unique Master’s degree program within the Department of Chemical Engineering at MIT. In this program, students, after completing two semesters of coursework, are assigned in groups to work at industrial sites or ‘stations’ for two months each at two different sites. Each station is overseen by a Lecturer, ChemE Practice School Station Director. The Manager will ensure that Practice School stations launch and operate as planned and on schedule, set operational objectives, allocate resources, manage the program budget, and provide leadership across the program's administrative, financial, compliance, and logistical functions. This role also involves contributing to strategic planning and operations by developing and maintaining relationships within the department, MIT, and with industry partners. The Manager will propose and implement recommendations for process improvements and manage program scope and life cycle. Additionally, they will manage student recruitment, admission, and tracking processes in collaboration with the ChemE Academic Office, organize and manage orientation meetings, and participate in course preparation activities. The Manager will serve as the single point of contact for Students and Station Directors while on stations, providing problem-solving, administrative, and operational support to program participants and industrial partners.

Requirements
