About The Position

The Category Manager - Logistics is responsible for defining and executing procurement strategies across the U.S. for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with both global category strategies and U.S. business priorities. This role serves as the primary procurement partner to senior stakeholders and drives value through strategic sourcing, supplier management, and demand optimization to ensure continuity of supply, service excellence, and cost competitiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of procurement/category management experience, ideally in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain services
  • Strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management
  • Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decisions
  • Strong commercial and analytical mindset
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage complexity and multiple priorities
  • Data-driven decision-making

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of logistics markets (freight, warehousing, 3PL, distribution) is a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned with global and regional frameworks and U.S. business objectives
  • Identify value creation opportunities, including cost savings, cash improvement, and service optimization
  • Translate business requirements into sourcing strategies and actionable pipelines
  • Act as the main procurement point of contact for senior stakeholders across Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Commercial, and Finance, where applicable.
  • Partner with business teams to shape demand, consolidate requirements, and prioritize initiatives
  • Ensure early procurement involvement in planning and decision-making
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities (RFPs, negotiations, supplier selection, contracting)
  • Deliver sourcing projects in line with defined timelines, savings targets, and service requirements
  • Drive competitive tension and leverage market intelligence
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure performance, innovation, and risk mitigation
  • Monitor supplier performance against KPIs (service levels, quality, cost)
  • Lead business reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Establish and track savings, cost avoidance, and cash flow targets aligned with U.S. business plans
  • Contribute to productivity targets and financial planning cycles
  • Ensure transparency and reporting of procurement performance
  • Master legal templates to encompass local legislative requirements, Business’ needs, IP rights, company protection and exclusivity clauses.
  • Advise colleagues and internal stakeholders on the impact of relevant clauses for contracting.
  • Ensure compliance with PMI procurement policies, controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Support audit readiness and adherence to sourcing and contracting processes
