About The Position

Provides leadership, supervision, and oversight of day-to-day operations of the Case Management department in partnership with the director, Care Coordination. Serves as the central expert to the director to develop strategies, which are efficient, effective, timely, and patient-centered. Using Seattle Children's leadership qualities and values-based behaviors the manager is accountable for achieving goals and key performance indicators associated with length of stay, care progression, and financial indicators by collaborating with all disciplines, departments, payers, system partners, vendors, and community agencies to optimize clinical outcomes within best practice, ethical, legal, and regulatory parameters.

Requirements

  • For RN Manager: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • For RN Manager: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • For RN Manager: A Master's degree in Nursing may be substituted provided the incumbent also possesses a Bachelors degree in another field.
  • For RN Manager: Minimum three (3) years of related clinical nursing experience in an acute health care setting.
  • For RN Manager: Demonstrated performance improvement leadership experience.
  • For RN Manager: Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience providing day to day leadership/management to the assigned group of employees in a clinical setting.
  • For RN Manager: Current Washington State RN license.
  • For RN Manager: National certification in case management must be obtained within three years (3) of employment.
  • For RN Manager: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
  • For RN Manager: Current PEARS or PALS certification will be accepted in lieu of BLS.
  • For MSW Manager: Masters in Social work from an accredited school.
  • For MSW Manager: Minimum of two (2) years Social Work experience in a medical setting.
  • For MSW Manager: Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • For MSW Manager: Currently Licensed in Washington State as a Licensed Social Work Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) OR as a Licensed Social Work Independent Clinical (LSWIC).
  • For MSW Manager: National certification in case management must be obtained within three years (3) of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of degree’s including bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and master’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration.
  • Knowledge of and experience using improvement principles and concepts in a healthcare setting.
  • Clinical experience caring for children with medical complexity.
  • Current or previous hospital case management or utilization review experience.
  • Current or previous case management or utilization review leadership experience.
