About The Position

Manages the day-to-day operation of the outpatient cancer center. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree: Preferred
  • Five years' technical experience: Preferred
  • One year's leadership experience: Preferred
  • Oncology leadership experience: Preferred
  • Oncology Nurse Certification (ONC): Preferred
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy certification: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day operation of the outpatient cancer center.
  • Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
  • Exercises independent judgment in recruiting, training, coaching, supervising and responsibly directing assigned staff.
  • Acts as educational and clinical resource for physicians, nursing staff and social workers.
  • Manages center personnel, including hiring, training and development, and regular evaluation.
  • Provides clinical evaluation and treatment of cancer patients, including procedures and radiation therapy services as required.
  • Maintains quality standards for outpatient cancer care.
  • Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, including the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACoS CoC).
  • Manages outpatient program development, coordination and marketing.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the center’s strategic plan.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures.
  • Oversees new testing procedures and related protocol and valuates, recommends and introduces new equipment and techniques.
  • Ensures financial viability and stewardship through revenue enhancement and cost management systems.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
