Manager, Cancer Center (Outpatient) - Full Time - Day Shift
About The Position
Manages the day-to-day operation of the outpatient cancer center. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
Nice To Haves
- Master’s Degree: Preferred
- Five years' technical experience: Preferred
- One year's leadership experience: Preferred
- Oncology leadership experience: Preferred
- Oncology Nurse Certification (ONC): Preferred
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy certification: Preferred
Responsibilities
- Manages the day-to-day operation of the outpatient cancer center.
- Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
- Exercises independent judgment in recruiting, training, coaching, supervising and responsibly directing assigned staff.
- Acts as educational and clinical resource for physicians, nursing staff and social workers.
- Manages center personnel, including hiring, training and development, and regular evaluation.
- Provides clinical evaluation and treatment of cancer patients, including procedures and radiation therapy services as required.
- Maintains quality standards for outpatient cancer care.
- Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, including the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACoS CoC).
- Manages outpatient program development, coordination and marketing.
- Participates in the development and implementation of the center’s strategic plan.
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures.
- Oversees new testing procedures and related protocol and valuates, recommends and introduces new equipment and techniques.
- Ensures financial viability and stewardship through revenue enhancement and cost management systems.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
