About The Position

Responsible for coordinating and delivering the HSBC Macau Business Risk & Resilience (BRR) agenda across the First Line of Defence, covering Control Office activities and coordination of Operational Resilience, Third‑Party Risk Management, and other applicable risk management activities across relevant risk types (including but not limited to resilience risks, regulatory compliance risks, legal risks, etc). This includes delivery of key bank-wide activities such as the Enterprise‑Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA), and supporting embedment of policies and procedures. Support senior management to operate within established risk appetite through effective oversight, timely escalation and clear management information. Promote accountable risk and control decision-making based on quality data and commercial analysis. Provide specialist risk and control insights to continuously improve the control environment, including conduct, risk culture and behaviours. Develop, manage and track delivery plans (timelines, resources and budget). Identify delivery gaps, agree actions with stakeholders, and drive closure. Prepare regular status updates, organize meetings, produce meeting materials and management reports to support robust governance and oversight. Establish and manage relationships with key Risk Stewards and stakeholders to deliver a fit-for-purpose governance, controls and reporting. Coordinate Operational Resilience activities, including identification of key services/processes, resilience testing, and vulnerability remediation tracking. Coordinate First Line Third‑Party Risk Management activities, partnering with Procurement and relevant functions to support policy reviews, issue remediation and governance reporting. Support embedment of policies and procedures to ensure compliance against applicable risk types. Identify trends and keep abreast of technology advancements, industry best practices and regulatory developments; initiate read-across and recommend enhancements. Provide additional support, as agreed with stakeholders, to embed or uplift controls where required to support the Bank’s risk and control environment.

Requirements

  • University Graduate in Business/Finance/Risk Management or related subject
  • Over 5 years’ experience in managing risks and controls at banks / financial institutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with abilities to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in crafting presentation and custom reports for senior management
  • Self-motivated with strong sense of ownership, problem-solving abilities, organization and execution skills
  • Quick learner, agile and adaptable to changing priorities and tasks
  • Good understanding of banking business, operational processes, products and services
  • Strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in business continuity/ incident management, operational resilience, third party risk management is a plus.
