As Manager, Business & Rights, Acquisitions, you will lead the acquisition of broadcast and streaming rights for Canadian and international programs and podcasts across all Radio-Canada channels and platforms. This is a hybrid role with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, business administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience negotiating contracts and broadcasting rights.
  • Strong understanding of Canada’s French-language broadcasting landscape and industry agreements.
  • Exceptional negotiation and analytical skills, with a proven ability to distil complex information.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with both internal and external stakeholders, combined with a strong ability to resolve disputes and find collaborative solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workloads effectively and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both official languages (full professional bilingualism is required).

Responsibilities

  • Lead negotiations for all business terms (including rights and financial terms) for acquired content, ensuring strict alignment with budgets, programming schedules and the division’s broader distribution strategies.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure rigorous compliance with the Corporation’s ongoing contractual commitments.
  • Develop effective negotiation strategies, break complex deadlocks and maintain positive relationships with industry partners and distributors.
  • Oversee the accurate entry of acquired rights and usage restrictions into internal management systems, and approve contract-related payments, supported by an administrative team.
