About The Position

Tyson's sales organization serves customers across Foodservice and Retail at scale — and the decisions that drive those relationships run on data. We're looking for a talented analytics professional to join our Analytics, Technology & Planning team and lead the development of next-generation analytics experiences. You'll shape how our sales force interacts with data — moving from disparate sources and manual Excel-based processes to personalized, automated delivery of insights. The ideal candidate brings an innovative mindset, a willingness to challenge existing approaches, and a strong mix of business and technical skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a directly related field.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Power BI with advanced DAX and M skills required.
  • Proven experience writing and optimizing SQL code and building relational/semantic data models.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query and Power Pivot.
  • 5+ years of experience, with 3+ years in a commercial BI or analytics role.
  • Strong professional presence with effective communication, presentation, influence, and problem-solving skills.
  • This position will not have direct reports.
  • Travel is not required for this position.
  • All professional team members are expected to demonstrate responsible use of approved AI tools, including safeguarding sensitive information, adhering to company policies, and validating AI-generated outputs. Individual Contributors should demonstrate the ability to integrate AI into daily work, improve efficiency through AI-enabled solutions, evaluate outputs critically, and apply professional judgment when using AI. People Leaders should demonstrate the ability to drive responsible AI adoption, enable effective use of approved solutions, identify opportunities to improve team performance through AI, and ensure accountability for the quality and accuracy of AI-supported outcomes.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to front-end development frameworks (e.g., React, Flutter) and an appreciation for design principles that drive user adoption of analytical tools.
  • Advanced skill in pulling data from and crafting stories with syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen IQ/Circana)
  • Prior experience in a non-technical business role (e.g., sales, finance, procurement, supply chain)
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Analytics, or Information Systems
  • CPG industry experience

Responsibilities

  • Leverage Power BI to create complex data models and enterprise reporting that expose data and insights to hundreds of Tyson sales professionals, with direct impact on accelerating time to sale.
  • Build strong relationships with sales leaders to understand their needs, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to implement those requirements in data models and reporting.
  • Build and help other analytics professionals build compelling visualizations in Power BI (and similar tools) that help business partners and leaders quickly digest results and diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Contribute to making Tyson Commercial Sales analytics more predictive and prescriptive by enabling analytics for the fundamentals, then advancing toward more predictive capabilities.
  • Thoroughly document KPIs, calculations, and processes to ensure information can be understood by users of any experience level.
  • Demonstrate proactive, curious business thinking; challenge the status quo, inform and educate on optimal approaches, and leverage best practices to surface actionable insights.
  • Transform complex data into clear, compelling narratives that support business decision-making.
  • Present insights, findings, and recommendations through effective communication and executive-ready presentations.
  • Prepare materials and lead training sessions to drive successful change management and adoption of analytical tools.

  • Embrace AI as a force multiplier in day-to-day technical work, and play an active role in shaping what comes next — contributing to AI-integrated analytics projects and imagining a future state where insights are delivered through modern, web-based experiences rather than traditional BI tools.
  • Ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail across all reporting and analytics deliverables while maintaining a bias for action.
  • Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
