The University of Toronto Scarborough is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented leader to join their team as Manager, Budget and Planning within the Office of Student Experience and Wellbeing (OSEW). This role reports to the Dean, Student Experience and Wellbeing and serves as a strategic partner responsible for student affairs planning and analysis, budget management, and student fees governance. The Manager will oversee the annual planning process, overall budget implementation, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting processes for the OSEW portfolio. This includes providing leadership for integrated planning and resource management, ensuring alignment between OSEW strategic priorities and operational objectives. The role involves coordinating and facilitating OSEW’s annual planning process, supporting units in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating annual plans and priorities, and leading the administration of the student fees governance process. Additionally, the Manager will support long-range planning, provide strategic analysis, advice, and evidence-informed recommendations for decision-making, organizational effectiveness, and sustainable resource allocation. The position also oversees financial management processes, identifies opportunities to strengthen internal controls, and improves operational efficiency across the OSEW portfolio, requiring a strong understanding of the portfolio’s financial structure, including funding and financial implications of fee-funded, government-funded, and operating budget activities. In collaboration with OSEW senior leadership, the Manager will analyze and interpret data to support operational planning and service delivery, preparing reports on trends, service gaps, and providing evidence-based insights.
