About The Position

The Manager, Branch is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all functions of an assigned location, which could be an express center, a full-service branch, or a cluster of branches. This role ensures quality member service experiences, maintains audit compliance, directs branch focus towards credit union goals, and provides coaching and development for staff to enhance the member service experience. The manager utilizes lending authority to make sound loan decisions and develops strategies to increase member participation through a focus on quality service in all team member interactions. They also attract new members through community engagement and conduct/train staff on outreach efforts. The position aims to create a world-class member experience by providing consultative services on credit union products and services, assessing member needs, and resolving concerns. The manager maintains consumer loan decision authority and supports the team with escalated lending situations, while also directing branch marketing efforts and implementing departmental projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years previous management experience required
  • Participation in the CA DMV pull program may be required depending on assignment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • 10+ years previous experience, financial industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing coaching and development of assistant manager, supervisor and teammembers to enhance the Member service experience

  • Creating plans to increase Member participation through focus on quality service in all teammember interactions
  • Attracting new Members through participation in school, community and business functions
  • Conducting, coordinating and training staff on school visitations and off-site presentation efforts
  • Creating an environment to ensure a world-class Member experience at every branch interaction
  • Providing consultative services to Members regarding credit union products and services
  • Ensuring that teammembers are providing consultative services by assessing the Member's needs, addressing their concerns and gaining agreement
  • Maintaining consumer loan decision authority and assisting team with escalated lending situations
  • Directing branch marketing efforts
  • Researching, evaluating, and implementing department and/or divisional projects
  • Providing daily support to staff, including answering questions and problem resolution
  • Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
  • Developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards
  • Accomplishing financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances
  • Contributing to organizational goals and priorities as a member of Management team
  • Establishing and implementing plans that have short-term (1-2 year) impact on business results in alignment with organization objectives
  • Evaluating operating procedures and policies, ensuring the highest levels of Member service, productivity and internal control
  • Initiating, researching, coordinating and implementing department or division projects intended to benefit Members, internal teammembers or department operations
  • Ensuring compliance with state and federal laws as well as any other applicable regulations
  • Understanding the credit union organizational goals and key performance indicators and taking the necessary actions to achieve desired results
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Complying with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties
