About The Position

This role involves managing automation engineering initiatives, focusing on data analysis, mechatronics, automation system design, process flow design, project management, automation integration, and advanced analytics. The position requires leveraging data to drive strategic decisions, updating CAD drawings, troubleshooting control systems, and understanding electrical and mechanical design concepts in a supply chain context. Responsibilities include assessing automation potential, analyzing space and cost requirements, resolving automation machinery issues, interpreting supply chain data, managing suppliers, and designing business processes. Project management duties involve planning, estimating, reporting, and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Integration tasks include addressing common issues with new automation designs, measuring project performance, documenting implementation plans, and preparing integration tests. Advanced analytics involve explaining data analysis methods, identifying data sources, manipulating data, and computing descriptive statistics to identify trends and correlations. The position may require working at various unanticipated Walmart locations throughout the U.S.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or the equivalent in Engineering or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Engineering or related field plus 2 years of experience in engineering, supply chain, or related experience.
  • Experience with testing automation machines and having a solid understanding of HMI screen interface for efficient operation of automation systems.
  • Experience applying Lean methodologies, including DMAIC and SIPOC, to implement process improvements and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Experience designing and developing interactive reporting dashboards using Google BigQuery, Looker Studio, Tableau, and Power BI to visualize data and support strategic decision-making.
  • Experience assisting design teams in engineering drawing development, applying design skills through AutoCAD and similar tools.
  • Experience conducting comprehensive analysis of Big Data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Experience utilizing Automation machinery knowledge in electrical equipment’s and controls (PLC, IDFs, VFDs), with skills in integrating these systems into automation machinery.
  • Experience conducting statistical analysis on demand and supply data, with the ability to create time series forecasts and labor forecasts for production and operations.
  • Experience performing Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for automation software improvements.
  • Experience evaluating Big Data to develop annual operating plans and financial projections.
  • Experience developing algorithms and scripts in Excel to reduce quality defects per million to Six sigma standards.
