The Manager, Automation Engineering leads the design, integration, and continuous improvement of automation systems within supply chain operations. This role leverages advanced data analysis and project management skills to drive technology adoption, optimize processes, and enhance operational efficiency. The position requires collaboration across teams to develop and implement automation solutions, manage project performance, and support business objectives. The ideal candidate applies engineering economics principles and continuous improvement methodologies to influence strategic decisions and deliver measurable results in a dynamic environment. Our team delivers large-scale automation solutions that enhance efficiency within distribution centers by integrating advanced technology into active operations. We operate at the intersection of engineering, operations, and execution, managing the installation and integration of complex automated systems while addressing real-world constraints. Collaboration across multiple stakeholders ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, and with high quality. Our efforts directly influence product movement through fast-paced supply chains, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence through data analysis, automation, and project management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in automation system design, integration, and project management within complex operational environments.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and advanced analytics to drive strategic decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen to enhance process efficiency.
  • Solid understanding of engineering economics and business case development to support automation investments.
  • Effective communication skills to influence stakeholders and present data-driven insights clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and deliver results aligned with organizational goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 2 years’ experience in engineering, supply chain, or related area.
  • OR 4 years’ experience in engineering, supply chain, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and integration of automation systems to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Manage multiple projects, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement technology changes and resolve automation-related issues.
  • Develop and document process flows, test automation solutions, and measure project performance against established criteria.
  • Support talent development by coaching team members and fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
