This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Our team is looking for an outstanding, highly motivated, automation and controls manager for our automation integration and support group who will form the bedrock of our automation support capability, enabling rapid and high-quality internally developed automation upgrades and supporting controls related breakdowns. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Requirements

  • A.S. degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Technology or other relevant Automation/Controls field.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ supervisory or management experience directing a team of technicians.
  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience installing, troubleshooting or maintaining equipment in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP) and related programs.
  • Excellent ability to interpret and modify electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience assembling, modifying, and troubleshooting electrical control panels and circuits.
  • Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and with humility to stakeholders.
  • A strong aptitude for safety culture.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Technology or other relevant Automation/Controls field.
  • Familiar with various control systems standards such as IEC 61131, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, and RIA 15.06
  • NFPA 70E and OSHA 10 hour certifications
  • Excellent technical writing, grammar, and presentation experience
  • Experience with electrical verification of machines

Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of new automated equipment into the manufacturing ecosystem at Blue
  • Manage electrical system modification of industrial control and safety systems
  • Manage the debug and modification of PLC and Robot programs
  • Lead the commissioning of SCADA applications (Ignition, Kepware, AWS, etc.)
  • Own the production support function for sophisticated manufacturing equipment
