About The Position

Cargill is seeking a Manager, Application Development – Specification Management who sets goals and objectives for the achievement of operational results for the team that maintains, integrates and implements product lifecycle management and specification management related applications across Cargill. This job coordinates the team responsible for software application testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation and support to ensure smooth, stable and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications. This Manager will be supporting a product team working to scale the use of SAP PLM across multiple parts of Cargill’s business.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.

  • Hands-on experience with SAP PLM and ABAP development
  • Familiarity with PLM data concepts and lifecycle processes
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or leading junior developers

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and builds application configurations to meet user and business requirements while identifying improvements to complex application support processes and procedures.
  • Leads the team to perform basic to advanced and complex programming, configuration, testing and deployment of fixes or updates for application version releases.
  • Acts as key point of contact with users to respond to application support requests and needs and prioritizes enhancements.
  • Supervises day to day technical application support activities to deliver on business outcomes.
  • Coaches the team and partners with multi-functional teams, including developers, product managers and business partners to ensure configurations align with standards and project goals.
  • Conducts prioritization of incoming incident tickets and user requests.
  • Maintains positive relationships with software vendors and negotiates complex contracts.
  • Guides the performance of configured applications and recommends adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensures and guides the implementation of improvements for application specific support processes and procedures.
  • Manages team members to achieve the organization's goals, by ensuring productivity, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching, measuring progress and holding people accountable, supporting employee development, recognizing achievement and lessons learned, and developing enabling conditions for talent to thrive in an inclusive team culture.
