About The Position

The Manager, Annual Giving and Development Data Systems is an integral member of the Morris Arboretum & Gardens Development team, responsible for managing the department’s fundraising data infrastructure, annual giving programs, and gift processing operations. This position serves as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Raiser’s Edge, COMPASS, and related development systems, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and effective use of constituent and fundraising data. The position plays a critical role in supporting the Arboretum’s fundraising goals by managing membership and annual fund programs that generate more than $1.6 million annually in unrestricted revenue. Responsibilities include overseeing year-round solicitation and renewal efforts, gift processing and reconciliation, donor stewardship, reporting and analytics, and vendor coordination. The Manager works closely with development staff, University partners, and external vendors to support fundraising strategy, data-driven decision making, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise with Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud products, and development database management required.
  • Experience managing membership programs, annual fund operations, or related fundraising initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in gift processing, fundraising reporting, and donor data management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams while also operating independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting fundraising events preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage gift processing and reconciliation activities using COMPASS and Raiser’s Edge, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
  • Serve as the department’s lead administrator and front-end expert for Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud products, and related development technologies.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity across all fundraising systems.
  • Create and maintain queries, reports, dashboards, mailing lists, and data exports to support fundraising, membership, and stewardship efforts.
  • Produce analytical reports and fundraising metrics for leadership, including giving trends, donor participation, membership performance, and annual fund results.
  • Manage the annual membership renewal and annual giving solicitation calendar, including segmentation, scheduling, tracking, and performance monitoring.
  • Support the generation of more than $1.6 million in unrestricted annual revenue through management of membership and annual fund operations.
  • Coordinate donor acknowledgement processes across print and digital channels, ensuring timely and accurate stewardship communications.
  • Partner with gift officers and development staff to monitor fundraising progress and provide actionable data insights.
  • Coordinate gift processing efforts with the Development Operations Associate and serve as the primary liaison with Penn’s Central Gifts Administration team.
  • Manage vendor relationships associated with membership, annual fund, printing, mailing, and publication efforts.
  • Provide training and guidance to development staff on Raiser’s Edge, COMPASS, data standards, and departmental procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to members, donors, and internal stakeholders via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
