About The Position

The Manager contributes to the overall success of the AML Data team globally by supporting the execution, documentation, and sustainment of data governance, data quality, data lineage, domain governance, and data controls activities across the AML Data Domain. The role supports the delivery of governed AML data practices aligned to Enterprise Data Standards, audit expectations, and business priorities, and ensures activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

• University degree in engineering, computer science, finance, business, data management, analytics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in data governance, data quality, data controls, audit, technology, risk management, compliance, AML, or related data delivery activities.
• Working knowledge of data governance and data management concepts such as Data Elements, Critical Data Elements, Authoritative Data Sources, metadata, data lineage, data flows, data quality controls, and issue management.
• Experience supporting governance documentation, evidence gathering, audit or regulatory requests, control assessments, or enterprise standards implementation.
• Experience with data quality issue investigation, root cause analysis, remediation tracking, action plan documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data mappings, process documentation, technical data structures, and governance requirements.
• Working experience with SQL, Power BI, Python, Excel-based analysis, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Collibra / Universal Catalog, Governance Console, GIMS, Jira, or similar data governance and workflow tools is an asset.
• Previous working experience in AML, ATF, sanctions, regulatory reporting, financial crime risk management, or banking data governance is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and governance requirements into clear business-facing documentation.
• Strong ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across business units, Technology, Operations, audit, risk, and enterprise data governance functions.
• Must be curious, proactive, results oriented, customer focused, collaborative, and attentive to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain audit-ready documentation, and execute with discipline in a complex governance environment.

Nice To Haves

• Working experience with SQL, Power BI, Python, Excel-based analysis, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Collibra / Universal Catalog, Governance Console, GIMS, Jira, or similar data governance and workflow tools is an asset.
• Previous working experience in AML, ATF, sanctions, regulatory reporting, financial crime risk management, or banking data governance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote a customer focused culture to deepen relationships with AML stakeholders and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Support the operationalization and ongoing sustainment of AML data governance practices across governed AML business processes, including Name Screening, Transaction Monitoring, Client Risk Rating, Regulatory Reporting, Sanctions, MIS, Risk Assessment, Investigator Toolkit, AI and Models Governance, and AML Operations Reporting.
• Maintain and enhance AML Domain governance documentation, including the Domain Governance Document, Domain Charter artifacts, domain taxonomy materials, governance approvals, and supporting evidence required for traceability and audit readiness.
• Support updates to the AML Data Domain Business Ownership Model, business process owner mappings, Data Steward / delegate information, and related change requests with the Enterprise Data Governance team.
• Coordinate with Data Stewards, Business Process Owners, Data Custodians, Technology, Enterprise Data Office, GBM Data Office, Audit, and other partners to clarify accountabilities and resolve data governance questions.
• Assist with data source inventory, data sharing agreement evidence, source system documentation, and repository maintenance for AML Domain data sources and consumed data assets.
• Assist in the development, review, and sustainment of AML data control inventories, data change management documentation, data quality controls, reconciliation evidence, and audit support materials.
• Support working group meetings with Business Process Owners, Data Custodians, Technology, and other key stakeholders, including agendas, minutes, action items, issue tracking, and evidence retention.
• Respond to audit, regulatory, Data Office, and internal stakeholder requests by gathering documentation, coordinating inputs, validating evidence, and ensuring responses are accurate, complete, and clearly traceable.
• Support data change management communications and documentation by reviewing release information, identifying potential impacts to AML processes, coordinating stakeholder awareness, and maintaining evidence of decisions.
• Perform data analysis and documentation review to support AML data initiatives, proof of concepts, implementation validations, and control assessments.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency, clarity, and consistency of AML data governance processes, procedures, evidence repositories, and stakeholder workflows.
• Support day-to-day delivery of AML Data initiatives, including coordination across internal technology and business stakeholders to improve speed, quality, and consistency of delivery.
• Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of data management, data retention, analytics, technology strategies, risk management practices, AML/ATF/sanctions requirements, and enterprise data standards.
• Support identification, registration, and ongoing maintenance of Data Elements and Critical Data Elements, including mapping to governed business processes, data use cases, and applicable enterprise requirements.
• Support data lineage and data-flow documentation activities, including maintenance of lineage scope, Data Flow Diagrams, demarcation points, Universal Catalog records, and source-to-consumption traceability materials.
• Support data quality monitoring and Data Quality Issue Management activities, including data profiling, issue assessment, root cause analysis, remediation tracking, governance reporting, and escalation support.
• Support MSI / DQIM operating procedures and control documentation, including issue materiality assessment, issue intake, evidence collection, action plan documentation, and closure package preparation.
• Prepare and maintain materials for governance forums such as RMDT, Domain Data Working Groups, Enterprise Data Governance Working Group, Enterprise DQ / DQIM Working Group, and AML governance committees.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
