The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). CHAI supports governments and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems. CHAI's Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiative aims to support Ministries of Health in systematically capturing and scaling the benefits of AI, working towards a vision of “AI Native Health Systems” for accessible, high-quality, and efficient healthcare delivery. The initiative has four pillars: (1) AI Doctors for clinicians and patients, (2) AI Diagnostics for decentralized and improved diagnoses, and (3) health systems AI applications for disease surveillance, financial and workforce management, and supply chain. The fourth pillar, AI Foundations, focuses on strengthening the governance, workforce, infrastructure, and digital/data foundations necessary for sustainable AI adoption. CHAI recently co-launched the AI Commons for Global Health to foster collaboration on AI for global health. The Manager, AI Foundations will report to the Associate Director, AI Foundations and will be central to advancing this work. This role involves strengthening governance, workforce, infrastructure, and digital/data foundations for sustainable AI adoption, leading research to inform strategy, managing diverse stakeholders (ministries of health, global health partners, technology companies), and translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences. The role also supports the AI Commons for Global Health through stakeholder engagement and operational management. This dynamic position combines strategic thinking, hands-on execution, and relationship management, with opportunities for growth as CHAI's AI for health work expands. This position can be leveled as a Manager or Senior Manager, depending on experience.
