About The Position

What Deal Management contributes to Cardinal Health Revenue Management is responsible for developing, communicating, and leading the execution of market strategy and profitability optimization through pricing and value-capture activities at both the strategic and tactical levels. The group uses modeling, analytics, and econometrics to create pricing strategies for our products and services. Deal Management owns the entire pre-deal process, including collaborating with sales to translate offer strategy into a customer-specific deal strategy and pricing, facilitating the deal approval process and related governance, and financial modeling of deal economics across a variety of scenarios. This job family is also responsible for validating our contracts have the appropriate terms and conditions prior to finalizing the relationship. Cardinal Health is currently looking to fill the role of Manager, Acute Deal Management. This leader will guide a team in constructing and marketing deals in the Acute class of trade. The role will collaborate closely with leaders across Acute Business Units and will partner with key functions in the segment (e.g. Sales, FP&A, Legal, and Operations).

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Influential leader with a track record of achieving results and the ability to clearly identify and communicate a vision and strategy
  • Success in working closely with business and sales leaders on growth strategies and introducing new approaches into the marketplace
  • Superb executive presence coupled with the ability to communicate to all levels and functions within and outside of the organization to influence senior leaders on key decisions
  • Strong personal drive to excel and set an example for teams across the organization
  • Personal inquisitiveness to find opportunities to enhance results
  • Ability to travel 10%

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4 supporting the Acute Pharmaceutical and Specialty Distribution business by developing deals for existing and new business opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and other key functions to create financial forecasts for customer proposals, understand key drivers, and effectively communicate recommendations to senior management.
  • Perform customer and product spend analysis.
  • Represent Cardinal Health in customer facing settings, addressing deal feedback and negotiating in a live setting.
  • Identify opportunities to drive profit growth and ensure market competitive terms.
  • Understand market dynamics and competitors.
  • Conducts complex analysis, synthesizes and summarizes implications to business, partnering with various teams using analytics and business understanding.
  • Facilitate the deal approval process to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Serve as an objective financial steward with an enterprise perspective, safeguarding our company's assets.
  • Ensures strong controls are in place and the company's intellectual property is protected.
  • Assist the contracting team with ensuring that approved terms are incorporated into customer agreements.
  • Focus on team development, continue to build team that partners effectively and efficiently to support the business.
