Manager, Actuary (IKC)
About The Position
The IKC Actuary Manager is responsible for the actuarial modeling and financial management of our existing Integrated Kidney Care programs related to government programs such as Medicare Advantage C-SNPs and underwriting new value-based care contracts. This teammate will manage an actuarial and medical economics responsibilities including completing annual program financial reconciliations, forecasting of program experience, developing enterprise risk management capabilities, and managing direct report(s). Duties also include researching healthcare industry trends, developing executive-level presentations, and communicating to other business units such as finance and operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Statistics, Biostatistics, Actuarial Science or Economics required
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
- At least 6 years of relevant Medicare Advantage and actuarial experience
- Extensive actuarial modeling experience in Microsoft Excel
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and other applications
- Strong track record of managing actuarial and/or medical economics analysts
- Proven experience in actuarial project management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven complex problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Responsibilities
- Manage program financial and membership reconciliations and monitor developing program experience.
- Peer review forecasts of program experience (both claims cost and CMS revenue), BNP modeling, and the monitoring of historical experience
- Evaluate drivers of program performance and communicate results to the leadership team and internal stakeholders.
- Analyze CMS standard reporting files such as MMR, MOR, etc. to forecast risk adjustments and CMS revenue
- Create internal performance benchmarks and assist in actuarial process and capability development.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Medicare Advantage programs, specific to the kidney care space
