Requirements

  • BS Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years of progressive experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or CPA a plus
  • JD Edwards, SAGE experience a plus but not required
  • Systems conversion experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Manage the GL, AP, month-end and year-end close processes
  • Review and process journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances
  • Oversee general ledger activities, including accruals, deferrals, and reclasses
  • Responsible for the accuracy of annual budget details loaded into ERP
  • Ownership of the expense reporting module - Certify
  • Manage balance sheet account reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies
  • Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets, leases, reserves, and prepaid expenses
  • Oversee the Capital Committee, and ensure that fixed assets are properly recorded into SAGE and ERP
  • Oversee grant accounting management
  • Provide accounting support with R&D efforts and work with 3rd party CPA firm to ensure proper treatment of the R&D tax credit
  • Manage and compile the annual tax provision for the company
  • Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting
  • Support audits and prepare audit schedules and documentation as necessary
  • Mentor, develop and guide staff
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency
  • Lead accounting resource supporting the conversion and implementation of a new ERP system
  • Develop and document accounting policies and procedures
  • Partner with Finance, FP&A, Tax, Payroll, and other departments
  • Provide accounting guidance to business stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned
