About The Position

The position is responsible for accounting functions including month-end close, financial statement preparation and analysis, balance sheet reconciliation preparation and/or review and other regulatory, compliance, and external reporting. In addition, the Accounting Manager will review and analyze complex transactions, new accounting standards and non-standard contracts and document preliminary conclusions of proper accounting treatment under US GAAP. The accounting manager is a primary point of contact for teams outside accounting to ensure accounting policies are understood and followed. This position leads a team of 3-4 Senior/Accountants. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of accounting rules (GAAP) and systems of internal control. The candidate will have experience with the implementation of financial system applications and process improvement/automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA or MBA required
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting required
  • At least 4 years of management experience leading a team of finance professionals
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Able to work on multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Accounting System Experience required (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred, Power BI a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting procedures, ASC606 and ASC842 required
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, preferably including advanced excel skills over large amounts of data (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and Charts)
  • Advanced excel skills working with large datasets (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and Charts)
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment and offer innovative solutions
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to work with cross-functional groups
