About The Position

The Manager, Accounting will be responsible for leading the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting activities of the BioScript Solutions group of companies. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results, maintaining strong internal controls and meeting audit requirements. The Manager, Accounting partners across the organization to support business decision-making and organizational growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage, coach and develop team members through change
  • Proficiency in ERP or accounting systems (experience supporting or leading a system transition is an asset)
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders at various levels
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and process integrity.
  • English proficiency is required for this position to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • A professional accounting designation (CPA) or progress toward designation is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience leading process improvement or system implementation initiatives within a finance function is an asset.
  • Background in a multi-division corporate environment is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) may be required depending on the specific role, location, and the needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and/or review consolidated financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries and supporting analyses.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and internal controls.
  • Support the timely resolution of accounting issues and reconciling items.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities, ensuring records are accurate and audit-ready.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures and financial controls.
  • Assess accounting processes, identify opportunities for improvement and implement change that enhances accuracy and/or scalability.
  • Lead or support accounting-related system implementations, upgrades and automation initiatives.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for accounting processes, financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to facilitate strategic initiatives and business decisions.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and special projects as required.
  • Provides clear direction, sets measurable goals, and holds team members accountable for performance and results.
  • Coaches, develops, and supports team members through regular feedback, performance reviews, and career development planning.
