About The Position

Harvard Developments has an immediate opening for a qualified Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting to join our Corporate Finance team in Regina. This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys financial reporting, complex accounting matters, cash management, process improvement, and working closely with business leaders across a diverse group of companies. As a key member of our Corporate Finance team, you will play an important role in delivering accurate financial information, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring excellence in financial reporting and compliance.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation or active pursuit of a CPA designation.
  • Three or more years of progressive accounting experience, including senior accounting, financial reporting, corporate accounting, or cash management responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE and financial statement preparation.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Experience preparing complex journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations, and analytical reviews.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, accountable, and collaborative approach to work.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering exceptional internal customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Managing accounting and financial reporting activities for assigned corporate and affiliated entities.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, working papers, reconciliations, month-end and year-end reporting packages.
  • Coordinating annual audits and reviews, including working directly with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Preparing and reviewing tax filings and remittances, including GST, PST, T2, and partnership returns.
  • Analyzing financial results and preparing reports that support management decision-making.
  • Reviewing and approving accounts payable, distributions, cash calls, and other financial transactions.
  • Participating in accounting system upgrades, process improvements, testing initiatives, and reporting enhancements.
  • Providing guidance, training, and support to accounting team members and co-op students.
