Founded in 1901, the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) is the largest allied golf association in the United States, with roughly 200,000 members belonging to more than 1,300 member clubs. The NCGA's vision is to ensure the game is vibrant, inclusive, and accessible, focusing on enhancing the lives of Northern California golfers. As a key partner with the USGA, the NCGA provides members with official handicap indexes and oversees critical governance areas for golf. The organization owns and operates two golf courses (Poppy Hills and Poppy Ridge), conducts over 650 days of golf events annually, publishes NCGA Golf digital magazine, and secures exclusive member discounts. The NCGA Foundation, which created Youth on Course, is also solely a member of the NCGA Foundation, aimed at growing the game and supporting the golf community in Northern California. The Manager, Accounting & Finance position is responsible for preparing financial statements for Poppy Hills and Poppy Ridge, including calculating cost of sales, recording fixed assets and depreciation, and making appropriate accruals. This role also manages the day-to-day accounting functions for Poppy Hills, such as Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger. Additionally, the position prepares tax returns for miscellaneous companies and tracks/reconciles cash, donations, and membership payments for the NCGA Foundation.
