About The Position

Performs routine (journey-level) managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of an agency’s business function, division, or department. Work involves establishing goals and objectives; developing guidelines, procedures, and policies; developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving established goals; coordinating and evaluating business function, division, or department activities; developing and evaluating budget requests; and monitoring budget expenditures. Supervises the work of others. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Central Counties Services incorporates principles of trauma-informed care, which includes cultural sensitivity, in all areas of service delivery. All job descriptions include the responsibility to learn about and implement trauma-informed practices within the scope of work for the position. Provides clinical oversight and supervision of the program and the staff providing therapeutic interventions. Manages day-to-day activities of the Crisis Respite at the Jail Diversion Center & Bell County Therapeutic Jail Pod sites within the Behavioral Health Jail Diversion Services department. Develops and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals Evaluates budget requests, monitors budget expenditures, and makes recommendations as necessary. Provides input in the development of new policies and procedures & monitors compliance with policies and procedures. Provides technical expertise and guidance regarding questions related to the department. Identifies areas of needed change and makes recommendations to improve operations. May assist in the development of budgets for a business function, division, grants or department. Supervises the work of others. Develops and maintains effective relationships with community members, stakeholders and community agencies. Assures program productivity is maintained by monitoring performance contract reports and submits management and productivity reports for both internal and external stakeholders Assures program quality is maintained by conducting review activities, analyzing consumer satisfaction surveys, informal/formal feedback, and external reviews. May participate in regional and state initiatives and committees. Applies the principles, techniques and procedures of Positive Coaching in order to increase collaboration and build job skills, meeting with employees on a scheduled basis, depending on the position at least monthly or quarterly to provide formal coaching. Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are required for the 8-5 workday or agreed upon hours 100% of the time, to ensure consistency and completeness of program’s processes. Professional Development - Successfully complete training required to maintain skill competency and cross training to ensure consistency across program procedures. Complete continuing education as required by professional standards and the Center. Must stay compliant with all required training. Frequent travel within the catchment area is required.

Requirements

  • Experience in a field relating to the agency program.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to the social services arena with a Master’s Degree following and which allows for LPHA standing/licensure
  • Clinical Texas licensure required as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist (LP).
  • Experience and education may not be substituted for one another.
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license with insurable record.
  • Regular attendance and reliability is critical to business operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of the supervision of other professional or paraprofessional staff, knowledge of the system of care in the mental health field.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the program area; of public administration and management techniques; of statistical analysis processes; of budget processes; of research techniques; of training and marketing techniques; and of program management processes and techniques.
  • Skill in identifying measures or indicators of program and staff performance and in operating a computer and applicable software.
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; to establish goals and objectives; to devise solutions to administrative problems; to develop, evaluate and interpret administrative policies and procedures; and to plan, assign, and supervise the work of others.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of experience working with individuals with a mental illness and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorder in therapeutic, group setting.
  • Three (3) years of experience in program management experience in a similar setting or advanced senior level clinical duties and advanced post graduate education/training in mental health.
