We are one team, working together to get things done. The goal of this position is to prepare the employee for a Retail Management position through a variety of activities and a training program. Training programs would include but not be limited to teller, personal banker, sales, security, credit, and marketing. Activities would include but not be limited to sales planning, marketing planning and marketing research. Several projects may be assigned from time to time as determined by management.

Requirements

  • High school graduate/equivalent is required.
  • Two years retail or banking experience is required.
  • Basic math proficiency and aptitude.
  • Demonstrated academic record of achievement in social and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to handle sensitive operational transactions and customer relationships.
  • Professional appearance & demeanor.
  • Demonstrated social/communication skills with a self-starter mentality.
  • Ability to adjust to flexible hours.
  • Ability to sell products and services.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and/or extended hours as business requires.
  • Periodic travel to Abilene or other Bank Regions for training is required.
  • Saturday hours and holiday hours may be a requirement based on your branch location’s hours of operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree is preferred.
  • Two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of negotiable instruments is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a variety of activities along with a training program.
  • Engage in sales planning, marketing planning, and marketing research.
  • Complete assigned projects as determined by management.
  • Read terminal screens.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with customers and staff.
  • Transport money bags from vault to teller drawer (approximately 20 pounds).
  • Communicate/listen to telephone conversations.
  • Operate all computer terminals.
  • Move about the retail locations to visit with customers.
  • Maintain access to the facility.
  • Apply mathematical functions to assist customers.
  • Learn and understand the AS400 computer system to perform various functions.
  • Assist in the supervision of staff and daily operations.
